Greetings Church Family:

Grace and peace be with you all!  I am delighted to bring you the latest edition of our church newsletter.  As you know, Pastor John and Maria have begun their sabbatical!  Please continue to keep them both in prayer as they visit family and spend time refreshing, reflecting and seeking the Lord.  May God's hand be upon them and their time together.

We are so blessed to have a strong leadership team in place that has stepped up to fill in the gaps while Pastor John is away.  Thank you Pastor Bill for bringing the messages and shepherding our flock through this time.  And thank you to our Elders, deacons, and ministry leaders for all that you do on a regular basis.  I am so honored and blessed to be a part of a church that feels like a close knit family.  I pray that you feel the same.  Even as we grow in numbers, I pray we never lose the closeness and intimacy within our body.  Make it a priority each week as we gather together to get to know one another and welcome new people into our family.

Here are some updates and announcements for the month of June.

The First of the Month, Communion Sunday. Always a great time to fix our attention on the redemptive work Jesus did for us on the cross, remembering His sacrifice and great love for us.

Vacation Bible School -Babylon - Daniel's Courage In Captivity, is scheduled for July 17th-21st.  We are still in need of several volunteer positions to make this the best VBS yet!  You may think you are not qualified or capable, but you are!  God is the One who makes us capable, all we need to do is make ourselves available and He will do the rest.  The next volunteers meeting will be Thursday, June 8th @ 5pm.

We are planning and praying for 100 kids to participate this year and we need many hands, feet, hearts, and bodies to pull this off. Please see Rebecca Payne to get all the details and to volunteer.  We are already signing up participants, ages 4-12 years old.  Register online by going to the Events page.

Next Friday, June 9th @ 5:00pm we will be hosting a Worship Night in the Park.  It will be held on Field 1 by the Pool.  We will be grilling hotdogs and singing praises to Jesus!  Bring your chairs and blankets, your favorite beverage and any side dish you want to share.  This could be an excellent opportunity to invite a friend or family member who is hesitant about church to an informal event in a public setting.

The Young Adults ages 20 to mid 30's will meet Friday June 2nd & 16th @6pm for Bible Study, and fellowship inside the church Cafe. The church provides childcare for those young adult families with children free of charge. Ask to speak with Devin Chapple for more information.

The Youth Group will meet on Saturday June 10th and 24th @4:00pm inside the Cafe for Bible Study, Fellowship, and fun Games.  Ask to speak with Devin Chapple for more information.

We have Bible Studies that meet throughout the week, providing an opportunity to delve deeper into the Sunday sermon and develop deeper personal relationships within a small group setting.

As I look over this list of activities I absolutely love to see so many different people serving and using the gifts God has given them.  We truly are "many members, yet one body" (1Corinthians 12). I look forward to seeing you soon.

Blessings,
